My weirdy new music

yes, I got a playlist. Emily had one and I couldn't stand being left out. Just kidding, I just didn't want to do my homework. They're kind of an odd collection of songs but they all have special meaning to me, except the Man that Can't be Moved song. I don't really have experience with lost love or anything, so I really can't relate, but the idea that there is love like that out there is really sweet.
The Les Mis song is there really just because it's awesome. I was very pleased that they had the version with Micheal Ball and Lea Solonga on it because thats the version I grew up listening to. My mom bought the 15th or 10th, I'm not sure, anniversary edition from PBS and we'd watch it all the time. I just have to say, Micheal Ball is the man. Sorry Nick Jonas, you're cuter, but he sings better.

The Dino song also reminds me of my mommy. She would make us listen to those songs all the time and we hated it! But after years of listening to it, you either have to keep fighting it, or just go with it. Apparently I chose the latter, I love Dean Martin, and other kinds of oldies now.

I guess I lied. The "Be Okay" song really has no meaning to me either besides the fact that its really cute and fun.

O, El Paso. O the memories! This was song of choice for all our car trips. In order to sing this song one must sing with complete and utter gusto. No mamby pambying around here. I don't think I like the story so much for it's twangy music about a lovesick cowboy. Mostly I just love this song because it reminds me of my family, and the times when life wasn't so complicated. Life's kind of funny sometimes.

Anyways, these are just a few of my favorites. They don't really mesh, but I like them :)

Mission accomplished!

I met with my Impact partner EE and our buddy Jake for the first time on Saturday. Really I don't know what I was so worried about, Jake's a very nice kid.
All we really did was make breakfast and play some wii dance game, but it was really fun. I got some egg shell in the batter somehow, so when we were eating our pancakes some nasty crunchy stuff kept cropping up. Because of this Jake banned me from ever cooking again, which made me kind of sad. He might be on to something though. One time when I made popcorn flames started shooting from the pot, another time I turned on the wrong burner for my macaroni and our only 9x13 heated up and exploded everywhere, and today I forgot about my cheesy bread and when I opened the oven door the bread was on fire. What a waste of cheesy bread :(. I'm a danger to everyone!
Well on a lighter note, Jake is in his school play Pirates of Penzance so we're going to go see it sometime. He also wants to play ultimate Frisbee on Saturday if the weathers nice-pray that its not! just kidding. I can just imagine him banishing me to the edge of the field because I can't throw in a straight line hee hee.

Well, th th thats all folks!

I'm having a thought here...

The other day my roommate and I decided we should be more than menaces to society so we went down to the good ole Y serve to see what we could do. We ended up choosing an organization called IMPACT, which is basically Boys and Girls club. Yesterday I found out I would be working with a guy named EE from Singapore and the boy we would be hanging out with is named Jake.
Today I called Jake's house expecting to talk to his mother, but guess who answered the phone? Haha Right-O! Jake himself! It was quite shocking and I could already see myself saying something so stupid that he would already be wishing for a cooler less socially awkward "big sister". He seems like a way cool kid though, he was very nice and enthusiastic about the whole thing. The only problem is he seems to like things like roller bladeing and frisby. Athletics- O no! Well what do you expect from a 14 year old boy anyhow?

I'm not really sure how this whole thing is supposed to work. I think we're going to breakfast on Saturday, so pray that he likes me!
